1. Simple diffusion

When we talk about simple diffusion, we are talking about the movement of solute from a higher concentration to a lower concentration across a membrane. Following digestion, a small number of monosaccharides diffuse into the bloodstream as a result of the concentration gradient. Glucose, amino acids, and ions such as chloride are examples of Simple diffusion.

2. Active transport

Active transport is described as the process of solute transfer from a lower concentration to a higher concentration at the expense of a significant amount of energy. Electrolytes such as sodium ions are taken into the bloodstream through active transport.

3. Facilitated transport

Facilitated transport is defined as the passage of solutes across a biological membrane with the assistance of certain carrier proteins that are present in the cell. This approach allows for the absorption of some digested amino acids and glucose into the bloodstream.

4. Passive transport

Passive transport is defined as the process of solute transfer across a cell membrane that does not necessitate the expenditure of energy. Passive transport is used to move simpler dietary substances into the bloodstream after they have been digested.
