What is the cell biology? The study of different kinds of cells and their internal make-up is known as cytology or cell biology. Knowing its characteristics is a prerequisite to learning about anything else in biology because it is the building block of life. Why is Cell the Unit of Life?

What is Cell Theory?

The idea in question was initially developed in the year 1938 by Theodore Schwann and Matthias Schleiden, and it was afterwards modified in the year 1855 by Rudolf Virchow.

Also, it said that the outer membrane of a cell acts as a barrier and controls the exchange of ions and molecules between other parts. Mitochondria are found in animal and plant cells alike, whereas chloroplasts are unique to plant cells. Since plants cannot obtain sugar from their diet, they must synthesise it using the energy from the sun. Chloroplasts are the organelles responsible for photosynthesis. 

Vacuoles are found in the cells of plants and animals alike. There is only one big vacuole in a plant cell, and it serves both storage and structural functions. Vacuoles are found in very high numbers and are typically quite tiny in animal cells.

The cells of plants have two distinct layers a cell wall and a cell membrane. The cell membrane in plants is encased by the cell wall. This accounts for the distinctive square form of plant cells. There is no cellular wall in animal cells, only a membrane.
